Thanks to a warning from Spike and Sparkplug, the Autobots managed to fend off the Decepticons, and came to accept Earth as their new home. Though they successfully took by surprise a squadron of Decepticons, the Autobots had not anticipated a second group flying in from the opposite direction. Quikcly deducing that the Decepticons were behind the thefts, Jazz joined that convoy that followed Optimus Prime into combat. Jazz discovered that fuel was vanishing from gas tanks all around the world. Later, he helped the Autobots in protecting Hoover Dam from the evil robots. Jazz was one of the many Autobots who stopped the Decepticons from harming Sparkplug and Buster Witwicky. Jazz eventually turned back up in 2025, where he joined fellow Autobots Bumblebee and Grimlock in beating up Starscream in the far reaches of space. He continued serving on Cybertron, Earth and Athenia through 2011 before disappearing again. In a splinter timeline, Jazz had many more adventures, including one in which he gained a new Binaltech body (only to lose it due to time travel). In 2005, Jazz narrowly survived an encounter with Unicron, only to make scant appearances in battles afterward (though he did win an event in the Galactic Olympics). Jazz could be recognized by his love of music, his friendly nature, and his incredibly cool voice and disposition. As such, he participated in many of the most important battles between the Autobots and the Decepticons throughout the 1980s.
